Lemon Rice


 INGREDIENTS:

1 c basmati rice, washed and drained

4-5 T ghee

1 t mustard seeds 

1 t cumin seeds

1 t turmeric 

Juice from 1 1/2 lemons

Water

Fresh parsley, finely chopped 


PREPARATION:

Heat the ghee and add mustard seeds when hot. Let them pop with a cover over the pot

Add the cumin and let it roast until brown

Add the turmeric followed by rice.

Give a couple stirs then add the water

Bring to a boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes .

Turn off the heat and let stand 5 minutes more still covered 

Add the lemon juice.

Add the parsley for garnish before offering to Krishna
